Infrastructure Components

The various components of the service infrastructure are:

Village Telecentre

The village Telecentre is the primary channel for accepting citizen requests and delivery of the certificates to the citizen. As mentioned below, in case the citizen makes a request for a certificate that has been issued previously and that certificate still remains valid, then the request can be fulfilled over the counter.

The RDS application at the village telecenter is a thick application which normally uses online connectivity to write directly to central database but has the capability towork in offline mode when connectivity is not available. In offline mode, it writes data into the local queue and on restoration of connectivity, syncs wit the central database at the state data center.

The requests for RDS services by citizens can be grouped into three categories

a) Certificates that have already been issued and are within the validity period of the certificate.

b) Fresh requests

c) Requests for which an enry exists in a database.

c) Requests of type b) & c) are processed at the RDS back office. Subsequent to receiving the electronic request from the Telecentre through the SDC, the request is processed by appropriate authority for verification and validation. On receiving the comments of such appropriate authority, the final certificate is generated and is digitally signed by the competent signatory. This digitally signed certificate can now be downloaded at the village telecentre itself and issued to the applicant.

Taluka server

RDS uses the same server which Bhoomi uses. The Server would contain the database of RDS transactions at the Taluka. The database at the Taluka is replicated to the SDC on a real time basis.

State Data Center

The RDS application uses the SDC for both routing of requests from village Telecentre to the Taluka back office and from Taluka back office to the village Telecentre. The RDS database at the SDC is a consolidated database of all the Taluka databases. The RDS database at SDC is a single database unlike that for Bhoomi where each taluka database is maintained individually
